Earlier in the year you will remember that Dartmoor Studios teamed up with Andrew Facy Productions in order to shoot a variety of ‘different’ promotional imagery for this March’s Westcountry Wedding Show that appeared in pretty much every magazine and newspaper in the Devon and Cornwall.
For the actual show Dartmoor Studios was again booked to capture the event in all its glory and every year it simply gets better and better.

Its good news, but not for subscribers…
Apologies for the lack of Blogging recently, we have been busier than ever both home and abroad with little time to get some images up on the Blog!
We will get some more information on about all the work we have been doing soon, so thanks for your patience.
Last Sunday did not have the weather forecast we were all looking for but we had faith and by early afternoon Summer had arrived.
From standing in the rain by a limo in Plymouth to basking in a sunny May evening - the day had everything and it was a pleasure to spend so much time with Siobhan and Ryan on their special day.
Much of the credit for the day must go to Siobhan herself and she does win the award for ‘Most Organised Bride’ so far this year!

Last Saturday saw the wedding of Caroline and Tom at St Elizabeth’s House, Plympton and what a beautiful day it was from the stunning sunny start to a real dragon’s breath sunset at the end.
It was an honour to spend the day with them and their friends and family - from the fun getting ready in the morning, hair straighteners all round then a beautiful service and some time outside in the sunshine, some incredibly enlightening speeches and great evening entertainment from the band.

Earlier this Ross was booked by Andrew Facy Productions to plan and shoot some very different images for this year’s Westcountry Wedding Show and the launch of Westcountry Weddings Magazine.
The images are now displayed across many pages of editorial in the magazine including its cover, as well as an interview with Ross and Andrew inside.
Expect to see many more images from Ross and Dartmoor Studios surrounding the promotion and during this year’s Westcountry Wedding Show.

Four seasons in one day best describes the incredible wedding of Louise and Carl last weekend, with blazing sunshine to monster hail storms and eventually a covering of snow!
However the couple and all their guests did not seem to care, swept up in the beauty of an amazing day and evening that it was our pleasure to capture for them.
Here are just a select few images from the day as a teaser, we hope you enjoy them:

Imagine the situation, you have been booked to come up with a great idea for an advertising image of putting a model in a wedding dress in the sea. You want waves crashing around her and the dress has got to look incredible, cause that is pretty much the point with fashion photography…
Sounds easy, however consider the following:
- You have got to get the model, dress, lighting and camera gear 50 meters out to sea
- There are 5 foot breakers
- The shoot is to take place at dusk
- It’s January so the sea temperature is about 13 degrees and the air temperature a little above freezing
- The dress is worth £3500 and once wet the photos will be no good
- Hair and make-up has been professionally done and again once wet are going to be ruined
- You have a variety of magazine editors and other invested parties all watching from the shore
Fortunately Ross loves a challenge…
And after all that hard work a quarter of a second later its all over…
Shoot over, there are no second chances.

When you think Alpine you don’t necessarily think Oceana but the Ski Lodge Bar was the perfect setting for an apline fashion shoot at the end of last month.

With a spectacular start to the year in terms of snow it was no real surprise to have snow up on the moors last week for Carl & Louise’s Pre-Wedding Shoot.
Sadly not every shoot makes it on to the Blog because there is just not enough time but it was so stunningly beautiful up there, if a little chilly, we thought we had to share a couple of images from this one.
With only a few weeks until the wedding who knows whether we will have a white wedding too!
